***CROWNING's Envy premiere + 2018 OMSB mp3 Mix #10 (October)***

October 2018 mp3 MIX #10
 => ***DOWNLOAD HERE*** <=
...and updates

Rundown of this post:
*** Zegema Beach Records Canada + U.S.A. stores open!!!
*** just plain nutty ZBR sales and 10 free packages draw!
*** Holy Shit, Look What I Found #4
*** Envy tribute premiere/tracklisting
*** upcoming ZBR releases

The massive amalgamation at Zegema Beach Records is complete, in a manner of speaking. The ZBR stock for both the Canada and the newly opened U.S. store are completely stocked, with only distro items still to come. Both stores are now equipped to handle purchases via PayPal to make checking out easier :)

Canadian Store
(includes 25% discount Sept 1-7)

United States Store
(includes U.S. shipping rates)

Yep, the Canada store has savings of 25% during the first week of September by using the code ZBRCANADA when checking it with an order +$20. Not only that, but both the Canadian and U.S. stores automatically enter you into the draw for the following (10) available free packages. Winners are chosen at random on October 1st and contacted via email. $$$ prices are before any discounts and taxes/shipping:

$10 or less = x3 packages (free 7")

$10.01-$25 = x3 packages (free 7" & tape)

$24.01-$50 = x2 packages (free 7", tape & 12")

$50.01-$100 = x2 packages (free tape, 2x7", 2x12")

$100+ = x1 package (free 2xtape, 3x7", 1x10" & 3x12" + one test press)

Damn, that's some hella incentive to support my little, non-profitable and passionate screamo label. 💗

A few days ago we posted the final Holy Shit, Look What I Found #4. This one was a shortened list of all of the Zegema Beach Records products that are down to almost out-of-print. Instead of wasting space posting it here again, just peruse the list at your leisure by following this link.

The Envy 12" tribute compilation will be titled ENVY LOVE and goes to press later this month. Artwork will be handled by the ridiculously talented Connie Sgarbossa of SeeYouSpaceCowboy fame and the release itself is my baby, and therefore it will be released solely on Zegema Beach Records. Here is the tracklisting:

BEAST JESUS - "Chain Wandering Deeply"
MASSA NERA - "The Light of all My Footprints"
NIBOOWIN - "Left Hand"
CROWNING - "A Farewell to Words"
APOSTLES OF ERIS - "Spiral Manipulation"

RESPIRE - "Go Mad and Mark"
GILLIAN CARTER - "0 and 1"
LKTDOV - "Black Past"
 - "All That's Left Has Gone to Sleep"
SHIZUNE - "A Far Off Reason"

But that's not all! Today is the premiere of CROWNING's cover of "A Farewell to Words" which was initially recorded and released on Envy's 2001 masterpiece 'All the Footprints You've Ever Left and the Fear Expecting Ahead'. Just like the entirety of the tribute, each band makes the Envy song their own without straying too far from the original. With this cover we see CROWNING embracing the raw, hardcore and gritty style that they have dabbled in before and give it the proper treatment here, as they rip the listener to shreds once the 25-second mark hits. Give it a listen below and be sure to pick up a copy once we put up the pre-orders in October with the Massa Nera song premiere and interview. Speaking of picking up copies, here's a link to the U.S. store's CROWNING / SWALLOWS NEST split 7" 😊

Lastly, here's the tracklisting for OMSB mix#8 that was reviewed in August:

1) ????? - "?" (coming this month when the dang records show up from the pressing plant)

2) BINARY - "It's Prince!"

4) UNION OF URANUS - "Circumstance"

5) THE CATALYST - "Too Big to Fail"

6) MY HEART TO JOY AT THE SAME TONE - "That Ungodly Arch-Villain Voltaire is Dead"

7) PACK SOUNDS - "Falls Risk"

8) LKTDOV - "Behold, A Shattered Enchantment"

9) MAJOREL - "Negation"

10) ELÄNDE - "Les mots de cils"

We also reviewed one from the April mix:

8) DRUSE - "Echninacea"

Much love,

As always, on or around the 1st of every month, I will be posting a ZIP file with songs for the upcoming month with ALL specifics deleted from the tags, so unless you already know the band, there is NO information regarding each track.

During the following month, I will post reviews for those bands and link the tracks to the review so you can associate the two together. This way you can listen to a new song/band and have little-to-no bias. Below, I have re-posted the September mp3 mix that is used for this month's reviews.

***2018 OMSB mp3 Mix #9 (reviewed in September)***

The new OMSB mp3 Mix #10 includes a previously unreleased track as well as 9 that you could possibly have heard before, such as:
*-* my friend Francis' review of their friends' Phillipino band
*-* a new band from ex-Kilgore Trout
*-* a new band from members of Frail Hands
*-* some obscure German ridiculousness
*-* Tony Danza Tap Dance Extravaganza meets Psyopus...I shit you not!

NEW => ***2018 OMSB mp3 Mix #10 (reviewed in October)*** <= NEW

Any bands/labels that are interested in having their stuff reviewed, please email with "Open Mind Saturated Brain" as the subject. Please keep in mind that I don't review everything, just what jives with the blog. I will, however, listen to everything you send me. I would recommend emailing with an idea for a song/album premiere 2 months prior to that song/album release date for a much stronger chance at being reviewed on this blog. Bands that have already had their discography reviewed can also submit new albums for review if they include song/album premieres.
