EYES OF VEROTIKA were a band that seemed pretty obscure while I was into them back in the golden days of screamo. This band played a very soft and jangly low-fi emo version of the more popular aggressive acts of the day (Neil Perry, Joshua Fit For Battle, etc.) mixed with some Spirit Of Versailles and You And I.

This band mixed soft emo with intense chaos like the other unknown greats; D'Amore, Tunes For Bears To Dance To and You And I. This band was basically Back When before they worked and collaborated with the great Jonathan Tvrdik from Back When, Examination Of The... and Caught In The Fall - so it's like a screamo version of Back When's insane math-metal and doom operas.

For every song with an out of tune vocal delivery, there are 3-4 parts that are mind-blowing - so it's a profitable trade-off. The 2 older releases have very Circle Takes The Square and Usurp Synapse vocals, but the later stuff if cleaner and higher pitched, ala Neil Perry and Storm The Bastille. (not the growly guy, obviously) If you've never checked this band out, you are only fucking yourself over.
