***2018 OMSB mp3 Mix #6 (June)***

June 2018 mp3 MIX #6
...and updates

Rundown of this post:
***Zegema Beach's final home
***ZBR Vitriol Records w/Middle Man next
***upcoming ZBR releases
***crazy cheap ad space available here

Where is David Norman now? Who the fuck knows. Oh wait, I do. After an exhausting trek around the globe, my family and I have got a place on Vancouver Island just outside of Nanaimo and will be moving in as of June 1st. That means that the Zegema Beach home will finally be secured, and this silly two stores/websites will be a thing of the past. In July all products will be moved to one location online and all stock will be updated as well as new products added.

Just last month Zegema Beach scored a big ole box of Vitriol Records stock, including Graf Orlock, Dangers!, Ghostlimb, Moxiebeat, etc. so now's a good time to pick those up before they're all gone. We're already down to only one copy of the Dangers! 12"s. Next up will be our most recent Middle Man Records trade from the beloved Shawn Decker, and they'll be up by mid-May, including a ton of stuff from Coma Regalia, What Of Us, Terry Green, Never Better, Frail Hands, Ghost Spirit, etc. so be sure to check those out.

In terms of ZBR releases, we've got them coming out every orifice. We recently received the мятеж/Carl Johnson split tapes and we've just paid the balance for the Crowning/Swallows Nest split 7" which will start shipping in late May. Arriving at our hub shortly will be the 'Desolate Hands Move the Hour' 4-way split 10" with Coma Regalia, Majorel, Cady and Agak, not to mention the Drei Affen/Coma Regalia split 7". The Respire 'Dénouement' 12"LP and Coma Regalia's 'The Mirror' 11"LP should be arriving in June. In June we will also be releasing the Sans Visage 'Moments' cassette LP on three variants and the new, stellar Komusō cassette EP on four variants, both as ZBR-only releases. After that we should be receiving our copies of Niboowin's 'Breathing' 12"LP, Euth's self titled 12"LP (teaser trailer embedded in this paragraph!...and here) and the Rutka Laskier 12"LP titled 'Protiklady'. We've also got three records going to press in May/June for summer/fall releases, including the phenomenal Blue Youth 12"LP 'Dead Forever' (for fans of Life In Vacuum and The Holy Shroud), a 1-sided silkscreened Mališa Bahat 12"EP (for fans of Virginia On Duty and Youth Novel) as well as the crushing Coarse self titled 7"EP (for fans of The Chariot and Vein).

The ad space I've been toying with introducing for a few years rolled out in April. In time the prices will go up, so I'd recommend locking in now cuz this deal is excellent. Why is it excellent? Well, here's a quick lowdown:

***(((((OPENmind/SATURATEDbrain))))) readership = over 1,000,000 in five years, including over 58,000 views in March

***updated with posts about three to five times per week (we haven't taken a week off since the blog's inception) including exclusive premieres, interviews and show/album reviews

...there are three ad choices, all of which can be jpg/png/gif with a clickthru...

As always, on or around the 1st of every month, I will be posting a ZIP file with songs for the upcoming month with ALL specifics deleted from the tags, so unless you already know the band, there is NO information regarding each track.

During the following month, I will post reviews for those bands and link the tracks to the review so you can associate the two together. This way you can listen to a new song/band and have little-to-no bias. Below, I have re-posted the April mp3 mix that is used for this month's reviews.

The new OMSB mp3 Mix #6 has more tracks than usual, as Tom is doing a few extra album reviews next month, so jam these 13 killer tunes, including:
*-* an insane French band that mixes Converge and Botch influences
*-* mid-2000s synthy, sassy screamo
*-* a ridiculously mathy/heavy Russian band
*-* a member of Sweden's Careless drumming for a new band in Japan with members from Cape Light

NEW => ***2018 OMSB mp3 Mix #6 (reviewed in June)*** <= NEW

Any bands/labels that are interested in having their stuff reviewed, please email with "Open Mind Saturated Brain" as the subject. Please keep in mind that I don't review everything, just what jives with the blog. I will, however, listen to everything you send me. I would recommend emailing with an idea for a song/album premiere 2 months prior to that song/album release date for a much stronger chance at being reviewed on this blog. Bands that have already had their discography reviewed can also submit new albums for review if they include song/album premieres.
