THE TRAVESTY STAR

This post's artist is from the June 2013 Mix. This is track #12.

Band: THE TRAVESTY STAR
Genres: Rock / Indie / Pop Punk
Related artists: The Vitals and Bad Blood.
Country: ?, Australia
Years Active: 1998-2001
Song: "We're Not the Impatients"
Album: "Living Tomorrow Today: A Benefit for Ty Cambra"
Year: 2001
For fans of: This Town Needs Guns, Saves the Day, Jimmy Eat World, The Stryder, Over It, Nada Surf, New Found Glory, Roy and The Weakerthans.

This little ditty was found on the benefit for 'Living Tomorrow Today: A Benefit for Ty Cambra' compilation I bought for the primary reason of obtaining Alkaline Trio's "Dead End Road", which was unreleased at the time. I was also a BIG fan of Saves The Day at that point in my life - so THE TRAVESTY STAR appealed to me instantly.

As far as I know they only released this one song. In the early days of the internet I remember that I actually contacted these guys and they were hoping to record something, but obviously nothing materialized.

THE TRAVESTY STAR, at least in this song, played a nice concoction of indie rock and pop-punk. Combine This Town Needs Guns and Saves The Day and you're pretty much there. Or just listen to it below and decide for yourself.
