...and updates

So wow, a lot has happened to me in a month. Some amazing, some terrible. Well...mostly amazing. I'll start by NOT unveiling the secret news coming out next week. Big, big news. Like the biggest in the history of Zegema Beach Records, big. I'm recording vocals this month for the мятеж/det är därför vi bygger städer split 7" and the Swedish lads already have a song posted on bandcamp so be sure to check it out here. They feature members of Careless, No Omega and Ken Burns!!!

Next, I'll be picking up the Endamori/Big Machine split cassettes in the next week so they'll be up late September. Lentic Waters new 12" 'The Path' should be on my doorstep any day now so I'm crazy pumped for that. Join me in the excitement by blasting their LP here. Coma Regalia's 'Ours is the Cause Most Noble' should be available relatively shortly but no definitive date has been set, I'm guessing October/November.

On September 15th, 2015 at Doors: Taco Joint & Metal Bar in Hamilton, Zegema Beach Records will be putting on a show with 6 incredible bands from the US and Canada: Blood Pheasant, Harris Hawk, Shahman, Fossil, Salem Witches and You Me & The Machine. It's only $8 for the two touring US bands and I guarantee this bill is fan-fucking-tastic. The link for the facebook page is here.

Lastly, for future interest in this blog, I will have to make a small request (aka demand). I get a lot of requests for new bands nowadays and I'm going to have to advise that if you'd like your band reviewed, song or album premieres are now preferred to post in conjunction with the discography review. If you contact me 2 months in advance and I love your music I will set up a premiere, discography review and all the rest of the crap that I do, just hit me up at zegemabeachrecords@gmail.com

Here is the tracklisting for last month's reviews.

1) KILLED BY MALAISE - Endzeit Erwachen

2) DAKOTA/DAKOTA - It's Not a Moustache, It's a Mouthbrow

3) ECORCHE - Song #6

4) CIRCLES OVER SIDELIGHTS - Duderstadt

5) TO DREAM OF AUTUMN - My Geodesic and the Humming that Persists

6) JIYUNA - Moonrock Millionaire

7) MIHAI EDRISCH - To Love (aimer)

8) COMA REGALIA - Aesthetic Dialectic

9) VERSOMA - Symbols & Abbreviations

10) EAVES - Gestern ist nicht Morgen

11) WE NEVER LEARNED TO LIVE - Shadows in Hibernation

12)  TEPHRA - Watchin' the Ocean

Much love,

Dave / OMSB / ZBR

As always, on or around the 1st of every month, I will be posting a ZIP file with songs for the upcoming month with ALL specifics deleted from the tags, so unless you already know the band, there is NO information regarding each track.

During the following month, I will post reviews for those bands and link the tracks to the review so you can associate the two together. This way you can listen to a new song/band and have little-to-no bias. Below, I have re-posted the September mp3 mix that is used for this month's reviews.

The new OMSB mp3 Mix #10...:
*-* a dancey, in your face obscure screamy punk band with...what, only one recorded song?
*-* a major dark, metallic screamo influence from Virginia
*-* Anthony Green's greatest screamo song...and, only screamo song?
*-* one of Saetia's biggest influences, as well as what I have to assume would be Bright Calm Blue's, also
*-* the most balls out rock from members of Cave In, besides Mutoid Man, of course

Any bands/labels that are interested in having their stuff reviewed, please email zegemabeachrecords@gmail.com: with "Open Mind Saturated Brain" as the subject. Please keep in mind that I don't review everything, just what jives with the blog. I will, however, listen to everything you send me. I would recommend emailing with an idea for a song/album premiere 2 months prior to that song/album release date for a much stronger chance at being reviewed on this blog. Bands that have already had their discography reviewed can also submit new albums for review if they include song/album premieres.
