Oh shit, it's Halloween. Oops, too late. Ah well. Let's pretend it's still a spooky night though, as perhaps only new Malevich matches this horror, but the debut three-song EP from Australia's ASHOKA'S HELL is a straight up fucking nightmare. These Australian folks come together to tear it all down with vicious, chaotic, unhinged, grindy, screamy, hardcore in the vein of Spain's Crossed and even has the vocal variance to match. "Don't think about it" is an excellent opener and sounds as pissed as you can get. "Fools" is a minute-and-forty-five of madness, fast, unexpected, and unrelenting. Closer "Where rats call home" isn't far from the aforementioned Malevich jam (albeit the shorter/older material), branching out it all directions simultaneously in an absolute onslaught of grindy hardcore with metal-tinged edges. Fuckin' hell, what an utter assault on the senses.
