***1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY 2014 OMSB mp3 Mix #5 (May)***

MAY 2014 mp3 MIX #5
The 1-Year Anniversary Mix
...and updates

First things first, watch the new AMBER official music video filmed by Iconographic here. It's amazing and features the band's new vocalist. Hot damn. The AMBER / LOCKTENDER split 7" (order here) also came out today as well as LOCKTENDER's new gatefold 12" LP 'Rodin' (order here) which are both insanely good.
Next, this is the 1-Year Anniversary Post!!! It's a pretty big deal considering I wasn't sure if anyone was even going to read these posts when I first started. I remember seeing that a band review would be read 15 times in a night and I'd lose my shit thinking that was good. Now there's generally about 15 hits every hour and some posts have garnered thousands of views. To say thank you to all of my readers I've included a 32-track blog mix this month! This is definitely the best mix to date, as I've saved most of these bands specifically for this anniversary post. A few bands are on the mix twice because they fucking deserve it. Not only that, but the first person to successfully guess each band on the mix wins a free Amber ST 12" test press! If no one gets every band correct, I'll send it out to the person with the highest score. If you want to give it a shot, shoot me an email with your 32 guesses and I'll announce the winner on May 1st. Email me at daveyjamesnorman@gmail.com with "I'm the smartest person in the world" as the subject line.

The following page have changes:

As always, on or around the 1st of every month, I will be posting a ZIP file with songs for the upcoming month with ALL specifics deleted from the tags, so unless you already know the band, there is NO information regarding each track.

During the following month, I will post reviews for those bands and link the tracks to the review so you can associate the two together. This way you can listen to a new song/band and have little-to-no bias. Below, I have reposted the April mp3 mix that is used for this month's reviews.

The new OMSB mp3 Mix #5 (1 year anniversary mix!) is linked below and will be reviewed in May. This 32-song mix is twice as large as usual and includes the most complete mp3 mix of the site's existence:
*-*my favourite obscure/amazing band that any fan of hard music should salivate over after hearing the track included in the mix (it's track #1)
*-* South Korea's best kept secret
*-* one of Canada's most influential bands of the last 15 years
*-* a fantastic guitar and drums duo with screaming that I haven't been able to discuss with a single soul
*-* the band that got me into screamo, even though they weren't a screamo band - but they were my favourite band for over a decade.

Any bands/labels that are interested in having their stuff reviewed, please email zegemabeachrecords@gmail.com: with "Open Mind Saturated Brain" as the subject.
