5IVE played beautiful and entrancing instrumental music that combined elements of prog-rock, metal, sludge, doom and atmospherics to create lush and often driving post-rock albums

While the band doesn't exactly drive home the hits, they do provide enough gems to garner a thorough listen. "The Baron" is a sludgy and driving romp through a distorted funnel. "Big Sea" sounds just like the title - constant, crushing waves of distorted instrumentals, with the band using what I can only refer to as a naval sonar filter. "Soma" is another massive song that swirls around with both soft and heavy moments. Listen to 5IVE with headphones and you will notice the care that went into the mixing of the albums.

This band has Jeff from Palms, Red Sparrowes and Isis - so that should give you an indication of their sound by comparison.
