For fans of: Textbook Traitors, Oktober Skyline, The Great Redneck Hope, Hospital, Kaospilot, Craneo, Usurp Snapse, Tristan Tzara, La Mantra De Fhiqria, Yusuke, Makara, Dispensing Of False Halos, The Flying Worker, Neck First, Isodora Crane, Deadseraphim, Beau Navire, Caught In The Fall, MNWA, Gas Up Yr Hearse!, Loftus, Means To An End, June Paik, Francis Brady, (old) Death Of Anna Karina, Cease Upon The Capitol, Mara'akate, The Sutek Conspiracy, Orchid, Louise Cyphre and Jeromes Dream aka PROPER Screamo.
SEYARSE was a relatively unknown and short-lived project by the guys who ended up bringing you Piglet. That being said, this sounds absolutely nothing like Piglet. This is violent, chaotic and shrieky hardcore band played at breakneck speeds. If you consider yourself a fan of the genre and bands like and especially older Death Of Anna Karina or anything by the Spanish band Craneo as well Textbook Traitors, Francis Brady, The Great Redneck Hope, Louise Cyphre and Isodora Crane, just listen to "Gypsy Switch" and you'll fucking love this band. They only released 7 songs over 2 releases, a 7"EP and a split 12" with like-minded La Mantra De Fhiqria.
To name drop some more, SEYARSE played violent, chaotic and excessively screamy hardcore in the vein of Oktober Skyline, June Paik, Kaospilot and just about any other emo-violence or heavy European screamo band. Amid screamy emo-violence and chaos is a solid base with memorable riffs, huge breakdowns and all-around engaging output. Take "It Might Be A Setup" for example. There's lots of lightning fast noodling, driving instrumentals backed by the vocal emotional strain of a rabid banshee. This super screamy emo-violence works with guitars that have been slowed down just enough to sound punk/hardcore while still bordering on screamo. SEYARSE is most definitely a prodigiously underrated band, so grab the discography from my personal vinyl transfer here and grab the last copy of their split 12" in the ZBR store, linked here.
I've got some SEYARSE shirts coming my way that'll be in the Zegema Beach Records online store in early May, so I'll post when those go up as they were custom made by my good man Kyle (of SEYARSE and Piglet) and there's like...5 or something.
