NATIONALE were a short lived band from Athens, GA that played a simple yet powerful version of screamo influenced by 90's bands like Shotmaker and Sleepytime Trio. One of my old bands Karoshi played with them in 2009, back when you had to book shows through Myspace or email, and bands weren't as easily connected. It turned out to be what they were planning on being their second to last show, as they were playing one last show in their city before breaking up. Both my band and Nationale were bummed about it, because our cities were so close and we wished we'd discovered each other bands sooner. I don't think I listened to them before seeing them, because I was blown away. Their songs aren't too complex, yet hold much emotional weight and evolve as the song goes on. They got back together shortly in the summer of 2010 and recorded 4 songs that never got finished unfortunately. The demo and Living Season aren't too different sonically besides the production quality. They share 2 songs technically, "Dear Clyde" and "Abulia I and II", although the latter got switched out for "The Saviour" at some point. I don't have the tour tape songs, but the demo and Living Season are included, and should be listened to stat. Also check out Matt's current band King Slender, because they rule.
