Ugh. I just wasted nearly an hour of my time trying to use an online photo editor to make the first announcement of the Zegema Beach Records Fest bands. But fuck that I don't know what I'm doing. Okay so I'm moving to New Zealand this summer (yeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!) and I'm holding a 3-day Zegema Beach Records Fest at D-Beatstro in Toronto, Ontario to help celebrate my time here, the community I've tried to help develop, the friends and the incredible music that many of them create. The event is all ages and will be held on June 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Sasha Pomelo from Life In Vacuum, Kiken and Congratulations is doing art that spans across three different posters, so to see the entire work of art you'll need to grab a poster each night! A band from each of the three shows will be creating an exclusive poster for that night, also. An event page will be created this month and will be linked in next month's post along with ticket pre-order goodie bags that will have free records and exclusive stuff to be picked up at the fest. Tickets will vary between $10 (thu) and $15 (fri/sat) with nearly all proceeds going to help pay for the touring US bands' gas money. So instead of a semi-sexy poster-dealy revealing the first set of bands today (I will release two), I'm just going to list them below.

Speaking of the band I'm in, there is a release show for THE WORLD THAT SUMMER and our split 10" with Sweden's Nionde Plågan coming up this Saturday April 8th, 2017 in Mississauga. Besides TWTS the downright sexy Terry Green will be playing as well as two acts I have yet to see, Never Trust A Wizard and Toucan Slam. Check out the facebook page here.

Any bands/labels that are interested in having their stuff reviewed, please email zegemabeachrecords@gmail.com: with "Open Mind Saturated Brain" as the subject. Please keep in mind that I don't review everything, just what jives with the blog. I will, however, listen to everything you send me. I would recommend emailing with an idea for a song/album premiere 2 months prior to that song/album release date for a much stronger chance at being reviewed on this blog. Bands that have already had their discography reviewed can also submit new albums for review if they include song/album premieres.
