DELOS is not a band I'm drooling over now, but I expect to be up to my knees by next year if they release anything else. I first heard the band while I was attempting to stock up on good screamo releases from React With Protest Records when I was first starting Zegema Beach Records and ended up keeping a copy of this record for myself. Not only is the cover art cool, but the band plays a great screamy hardcore with lots of melody although they do delve into dual screaming territory so shit can get a little nuts. You wanna get nuts? Let's get nuts!
"I" is a prime example of the band's ability to blast right into a song a layer it with lots of screaming but still have it be catchy, danceable and memorable. "II", which is also from the band's self-titled, one-sided LP and sounds a hell of a lot like super screamy bands Francis Brady, Deers! and Republic of Dreams.
The split with Yusuke bore the song "Packed with Gold and Shit" which is a really cool song that has a lot of mixed styles, but the last part and outro of the song are stellar and really remind me of Van Johnson.
