We`re going pretty far back here, people. I got mad into DOWNWAY after seeing their video on MuchMusic back in the late 1990s or early 2000s. Twas an infectious brand of lightning fast skate-punk with a dash of whine (the Choke/Sloppy Meateaters variety, not the emo crying stuff) and some hardcore songs thrown in for good measure. Their crowning achievement would come during their split with fellow Canucks Belvedere in the early 2000s, which was unfortunately (or probably "fortunately" would be the better word to use) the time I was distancing myself from that kind of music as it weaseled its way into the mainstream by way of skate/pop punk bands headed by Blink 182 and whoever else you may have loved almost...goddamn, 15 years ago. I have a hard time listening to the majority of this kind of stuff, but one song in particular, the song that got me into the band, "One of Us" is linked below and worth checking out if you need to reminisce or still love that style of music. It's catchy as hell, has some punch to it and is really well written with some really great vocal melodies.
