BEAU NAVIRE plays screamy, chaotic-yet-beautiful hardcore in (generally) short controlled bursts (just like Hicks) drenched in feedback (Loma, anyone?) with lots of dreamy/twinkly riffs (see Altar Of Complaints). If you need a more defined reference point, imagine Loma Prieta with less dark and bass heavy songs, lighter and twinkly instrumentals a myriad of screaming from different vocalists.
I would recommend starting with 'Lumens' or the 'Republic Of Dreams Split' 7", where I really feel like the band hit their stride. 'Hours' is the closest thing they've done to Loma Prieta's 'Life/Less' - it`s soaked in feedback, chaotic, abrasive and has a lot less twinkle. I'm using "twinkle" in the good way here, not the neo-emo rock definition that I see thrown around all too easily on the internet. The band's earlier stuff doesn't strike me as much (with the exception of the 4-way split 8") as they were evolving - and boy did they evolve quickly. Check that discography below and see how many releases they had in just a 4 year time frame. Before you do that, I'd recommend reading the exclusive interview that I recently had with Jon of BEAU NAVIRE fame. Humbled like the great person he is, Jon answered all of my questions and lets you know if the band is broken up or not.

*OMSB's favourite quote: "I think feedback is beautiful to be honest. For me it represents the disconnected feelings we have from the rest of the world. The band’s whole reason for writing music is just an outlet for our emotions and thoughts so when we can show every element in a song it always makes me so happy inside."
