SUNDOWNING play dark, expansive post-metal. If you are in cahoots with Rosetta, Light Bearer and Spires I'd be hella surprised should you dislike this. The band has released two EPs, a full length and two splits since their inception in 2009. The first 'Sundowning' EP is much more chuggier and the vocals are not quite at the screamy/growly level they are after this initial release. I definitely would not start here unless you love Training For Utopia and early Curl Up And Die. The 'Of Aging Stone and Rotting Leaves' was released in 2011 and shows the band at (for the most part) their current sound. The rise peaked (for me) in 2012 with their 'Seizures of the World' LP that resembles Fall Of Efrafa, Tephra and Buried Inside. I would recommend starting here, as the post-hardcore/post-metal is at its finest. Be sure to listen to the title track "Seizures of the World" and watch the music video on vimeo here. The two following splits in 2013 showed the band experimenting more within their sound. Here Rosetta, Downfall Of Gaia and Light Bearer are the most obvious comparisons but the band retains their own vibe over the two songs housed across the two splits. If you dig the heavy, atmospheric post-metal this will be much welcomed.
