I should start by saying that I love Seinfeld references. I love Seinfeld. I also love Foxmoulder. For a lack of a better description, I'd basically say that QUONE was the early incarnation (although they were around at the same time) of Foxmoulder, despite only one member initially moving on from QUONE to said Toronto screamo band that evolved into Respire.
The band only ever released a single 'Demo' recorded in late 2012 and released digitally in January of 2013. Opener "14 Points" gives some obvious hints at the origins of Respire, while "Spare Me the Pleasant Trees" delves right into a huge, bassy and discordant intro that has Foxmoulder written all over it. The second half of the latter track is awesome, as it lays down a nice melody before adding riffs and dual vocals. Speaking of the vocals, they are generally strained yelling more than screaming, with some slightly deeper stuff that I assume is Rohan. The first 20 seconds of "Bonesaw vs. Karl Malone" has noticeable/respectable nods to Bright Calm Blue, "Choreographed Dance Moves" is much more emo save that chuggy breakdown and closer "We Are A Metal Band" is pretty jazzy before moving into blown-out, fingertappin' Orchid territory, if there is such a place.
