Review by THOMAS SCHLATTER:
CURTAINS come out strong right from the start on these three songs. It's a beautiful package of melodic chaos that shows off some stellar song writing and well tuned musicianship. The vocals have that perfect scream which is equal parts desperation and strength.
I'm hearing influences from across the board here. They have the technicality of Ampere or Itto, with the ferocious nature of Majority Rule or Envy. With the exception of a small break in "Acedia" the band is going 100 mile per hour through all three songs, yet, there's an underlying melodic nature that never lets up.
Abstract lyrics provide the final layer. The vocals are placed very strategically as to reinforce the flow of the songs. There's no awkward placement or strain to fit in extra syllables. These folks have a plan and they are carrying it out flawlessly.
