SEAR
"Judy"
exclusive song/video premiere
For fans ofPortrayal Of GuiltCrossed and To Forget

album drops/orders open January 12th, 2026

Nearly two years after the debut EP from South Carolina's SEAR comes their first full length on 12"LP courtesy of Tomb Tree. Today I'm stoked to premiere the brand new song "Judy" and it's music video made by John Renaldo. Here’s some thoughts on the single from Austin Parson (guitar/vox):

“My grandmother has been the only consistent family member in my life. She raised me as if I were her own without being asked. She has been sick for a long time now and the thought of being alive without her sounds miserable. It’s a love letter to her. I want her to be at peace without suffering.”

(2026) SEAR "Judy" (from 'O Merciful') [official music video]

This is the first track from the eight-song 'O Merciful' and it gives you very much a brief snapshot what you'll experience throughout the rest of the album. There are the aggressive screamo/post-hardcore/black metal elements, a bit of washed-out shoegaze, and a generous heaping of dark,  atmospheric, doomy bits. The video is a constant collage of living room practices and what I assume are videos of Austin's grandmother.
