The band that morphed into Animal Faces were a pretty sweet group called SOFT FLOORS. They released one self titled LP back in 2009. It's really good. If you are hankering for more Animal Faces this will certainly fill the void. I'll quickly go over my three favourite songs and then you can just download the album, because chances are you'll be sold.

"Time to Leave Town" sounds like an early Animal Faces demo. The gritty, yelly wall of sound intro leads to a classic instrumental jam at 36 seconds in which should have you dancing like it's North Of America all over again. Also, this song has a bunch of really cool parts and is their best song. "Concrete Ceilings" has Ryan close to wailing with some great clean guitars as well as some mathy sections. The beginning is more of a shoegazey/math-rock instrumental ditty until 1:06 when the grooving bass and said wailing. In many respects I find the band to be comparable to Serotonin and their punky, mathy and head-bobbing engagements, especially at the end. "Time and Value" is a frantic scamper around post-rock/screamo territory that should have you moving by the 1-minute mark, for sure.

If you haven't spun every song by Animal Faces get on that, as they are a far superior band. Otherwise here's the equivalent of the Animal Faces demo.
