For fans of: Daughters, Graf Orlock, Kid Dynamite and other grindy thrash that I
generally wouldn't listen to and therefore don't know band names to drop.
FUCKING INVINCIBLE doesn't necessarily play a style of music that I generally gravitate towards. What's great about this band is their live material. Once I saw the band do...what they do (sweat, bloody foreheads, arms taped to torsos, uprooting order) I was able to appreciate the music much more.
FUCKING INVINCIBLE play a mixture of hardcore and thrash with flourishes of punk, grind and crusty metal. They have members from lots of other bands, but the reason I checked them out was the Daughters tag. There's only a slight touch of the Daughters going on here, as the band vies for much more of a straight-ahead, pummelling hardcore sound. You've got constant shrieking, lightning drumming, huge bass riffs and the driving hardcore guitar you'd expect from a punk/thrashy/metal band.
I picked up their new EP 'Downtown is Dead' at their first show in Toronto and dug it. I have included the full-set from their Lord Snow and Circle Takes The Square show in Toronto on November 15th, 2013 at SneakyDee's. There's hyperlinks at the bottom of this show to another 6 live videos from an earlier show this past summer in Toronto.
